Pic has some redeeming features, like its glossy, fashion-shoot-inspired black-and-whitened look, along with a clutch of respectable perfs among some inadequate ones in the toothsome youthful cast, however the script is really a mess, the figures barely supportive. Only niche auds will probably get at the top of this. Bony clotheshorse Alice (Antonia Campbell Hughes, very good) longs to transition from model to actress, but is hobbled with a staggering insufficient talent, revealed inside a droll audition scene. She stays a lot of her time spending time with her wealthy, super stylish buddies like sassy Saskia (Daisy Lewis), flaky Lulu (Jay Choi) and desperate Suzi (Amber Anderson) as well as their assorted men, and it has an on-off relationship with junkie Charlie (Johnny Flynn, another standout, together with Lewis). Action changes between ultimately monotonous semi-improvised moments from the kids hanging out hard and hoary melodrama that will reach a crazy climax.Camera (B&W, Super 16-to-35mm, widescreen), Gareth Munden editor, Bert Hunger, Emer Reynolds music, Birger Clausen production designer, Richard Hudson art director, Noam Piper costume designer, Ruth Higginbotham. Examined at London Film Festival (New British Cinema) March. 19, 2011 . Running time: 78 MIN. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com
